Backdrops & Cake Smash Set Up:

1 to 2 sets are included. One set up is a simple set and a simple backdrop with no decorated props. Any type of outfit is welcomed. You can do a regular, nice outfit or keep it with the theme. The second set up is the fun, decorated set up where baby will smash the cake. An outfit that goes with the theme or in similar colors of the theme would be best for this portion.

What Props Are Included In The Set?

I do provide most of the set up for your themed session. A portion of the cake smash fee goes towards investing in props for your specific theme. I will do as much as I can within budget. We will discuss what I can or can not provide. I do not provide helium filled balloons and plush character toys.

For example, I provide (within budget):

-The backdrop and floor

-Props related to the theme; such as balloons (not helium filled), tissue poms, florals, etc.

-Cake stand

CAKE SMASH FAQs

Where are you located?

My studio is located in La Feria, Tx.

910 S. Main St., Suite A
La Feria, Tx 78559

When should I book my cake smash session?

I recommend 2-4 weeks prior to the date that you will be needing your photos. For example, if you want your photos for an event or invitations then I recommend 3-4 weeks prior to that date.

If you are not in a rush then we can absolutely have your session anytime that you prefer.

I recommend booking with enough time in the case that props would need to be ordered online.

Do you offer MINI sessions for cake smashes?

No, I do not offer MINI sessions for first birthday/cake smashes for a lesser price.

I do not offer them because sets have become more elaborate, and prop prices have increased. The time it takes to set up and the price for props would be and cost the same for any amount of time. So to justify the cost and time required I only offer regular priced sessions.

If you wish to have your session for a shorter period of time vs. the 1 hour allowance then that would be at the client's discretion, but price would remain the same.

Do you provide all the props and decorations for the set up?

I do provide most of the set up for your themed session. A portion of the session fee goes towards investing in props for your specific theme. I will do as much as I can within budget.

For example, I provide (within budget):
-The backdrop
-Props related to the theme
-Cake stand

***I recommend booking with enough time in the case that props would need to be ordered online.

Clients can bring in props as well.

We will be in communication so we can discuss details about your session. We will go over props you may have and want to provide, inspiration photos (so I have an idea of what direction you are wanting to go), and more!

Do you provide the outfits?

No and a little bit yes.

No, I don't normally provide the outfits.

BUT
Yes, I have a small collection for baby girls ONLY that may be borrowed.

Can I provide my own cake?

Yes, you can provide your own cake. You do not have to use my partnered baker.

I do ask that we still discuss your cake to ensure it matches the theme/set.

I want to add the cake + delivery from your partnered baker, do I choose the design or does the baker?

Great! I highly recommend going with my partnered baker for several reasons!

For only an additional $40
1. You're guaranteed to have an amazing looking and tasting cake made just for your little one!
2. You won't have to worry about picking up your cake! Our baker will deliver it to the studio.
3. Your cake design is completely customized to what you would like for your theme.

(and 4th, you'd be supporting another small business! whoop whoop!)

Once you book your session, you are not only booking with me, but with the baker as well. Part of your non-refundable retainer fee goes towards the baker's fee. You and I will discuss your cake details, and once you've decided on a cake I will relay the message to the baker.

****IMPORTANT: Photographer and baker are NOT responsible for any allergy reactions. Cake is made using diary and eggs.

What are digital photos? And what does digital download mean?

All packages come with digital photos. Prints, USBs, or CDs are not included with your package, but you may purchase through me at additional cost or provide your own.

Digital photos will be provided via "digital download" meaning you will download your photos straight to your computer.

Who can come to the session?

Due to COVID-19, only those being photographed and parents are allowed in the studio. Masks must be worn at all times by those not being photographed, and shoes must be removed at the door. Frequent hand washing or sanitizing is also recommended. If you or someone in your household is sick please reschedule immediately.

How long until I receive my photos?

I recommend that if it's important to you please plan ahead!

I work on sessions in the order that I have them. For example, if I have 4 photo shoots in a week, and your photo shoot is the 2nd, I will edit yours 2nd. Please expect 2-3 weeks for you to receive your proofing gallery.

As long as you give me permission to share on social media, I will post a few sneak peeks of your images on Facebook as you wait for your completed gallery. You are welcome to share the photos using the "share" feature, but please remember to never crop or alter the image or remove the watermark.

Once I am done editing your session I will provide you with the edited images in a proofing gallery. Here you will be able to view all of your images that will soon be yours, and with the option to purchase more. Your private gallery will remain available for 1 week or until you have chosen your final photos. Once you've chosen your final photos the proofing gallery will be disabled. I will notify you and provide the password, instructions and terms once your gallery is ready.

You took so many of photos at our session, Why didn’t I receive all of them?

At a session, I can take up to 200+ photos. (I tend to get a little trigger happy!) That doesn’t mean that they are all up to my standards. I reserve the right to discard all photos that aren’t up to my artistic standards (blurry, not in focus, duplicates, etc.).

What if I need my photos right away?

I recommend that if it is important to you then please plan ahead. Booking your session for 2-4 weeks prior to the date you'd need your photos is recommended. If you wish to have your photos done sooner there will be a rush fee.

What if I have to cancel the day of?

Things happen – people get sick – kids don’t nap or were up all night – If this were to happen, please don’t “try” to make the shoot. It will just end up with us having to call it a day, and you will end up with not so lovely pictures (and we hate that more than anything). Please understand that retainer fees are non-refundable. If reschedule notice is MORE than 24 hours then you may reschedule without penalty. If notice is LESS than 24 hours, only half of your retainer fee will be applied to a make up day or future session. If you wish to CANCEL with a less than 24 hour notice and not reschedule then none of your original retainer fee will be applied to a make up day or future session. A new non-refundable retainer fee will be required. All monies paid are non-refundable.
For cake smash sessions: You, the client, will also be held responsible for paying the $30 for the smash cake no matter the situation each time.

What forms of payment do you accept?

I accept cash, checks, and PayPal. Any returned checks will result in a $40 fee, and photos/products will NOT be released until issue has been resolved. Taxes will be applied.
