How do I book a session?

First, I'd we discuss the type of session you're interested in. All sessions are priced differently. Please refer to "INVESTMENT" for pricing and what's included.

To officially book a session, a non-refundable retainer fee of 50% (half of your session fee) will be due to reserve the date and time. I will send an invoice (online), and all you would need is a debit or credit card. Taxes will apply. Invoices are due within 12 hours of receiving it. After 12 hours invoice will be cancelled and date will be forfeited.
Sessions are only considered booked after the non-refundable retainer fee is paid.

After the invoice is taken care of we will discuss all the details and planning of your session.

Remaining balance will be due on the day of your session.

What are digital photos? And what does digital download mean?

All packages come with digital photos. Prints, USBs, or CDs are not included with your package, but you may purchase through me at additional cost or provide your own.

Digital photos will be provided via "digital download" meaning you will download your photos straight to your computer.

Unedited photos are never included, given, or sold.

Who can come to the session?

Due to COVID-19, only those being photographed and parents are allowed in the studio. Masks must be worn at all times by those not being photographed, and shoes must be removed at the door. Frequent hand washing or sanitizing is also recommended. If you or someone in your household is sick please reschedule immediately.

What happens if my child doesn't cooperate at the session?

I know working with little ones can be tough and takes a lot of patience – which thankfully I have. However, from time to time we can be faced with a situation where we find it is just not working, and if we continue to try it will only frustrate your child (children) more. So it is better to just call it a day. If this were to occur, please respect my time and understand the full session fee will still be due.

How long until I receive my photos?

I work on sessions in the order that I have them. My turnaround time depends on the amount of sessions I have at that time.
For example, if I have 4 photo shoots in a week, and your photo shoot is the 2nd, I will edit yours 2nd. I spend hours editing each session and want them to be their best, so please expect anywhere from 2-4 weeks for you to receive your photo proofing gallery.

Once I have finished editing the sessions ahead of yours I will begin working on your session and I will notify you. After I am done editing your session you will receive an email with your proofing gallery link and you can pick and choose the images you'd like, with the option to purchase more.

I appreciate your patience and understanding during that time frame.

How will I get to see my photos?

As long as you give me permission to share on social media, I will post a few sneak peeks of your images on Facebook. You are welcome to share the photos using the "share" feature, but please remember to never crop or alter the image or remove the watermark.

SNEAK PEEKS are a little peek of a few photos from your session. If SNEAK PEEK is in the title it means that I am not working on your session just yet.

Once I am done editing your session I will provide you with the edited images in a proofing gallery. Here you will be able to view all of your images that will soon be yours, and with the option to purchase more. Your private gallery will remain available for 1 week or until you have chosen your final photos. Once you've chosen your final images the proofing gallery will be disabled. I will provide the instructions and terms once your gallery is ready.

You took so many of photos at our session, Why didn’t I receive all of them?

At a session, I can take up to 200+ photos. (I tend to get a little trigger happy!) That doesn’t mean that they are all up to my standards. I reserve the right to discard all photos that aren’t up to my artistic standards (blurry, not in focus, duplicates, etc.).

Unedited photos are never included, given, or sold.

What if I need my photos right away?

I recommend that if it is important to you then please plan ahead. Booking your session for 2-4 weeks prior to the date you'd need your photos is recommended. If you wish to have your photos done sooner there will be a RUSH FEE.

What if I have to cancel the day of?

Things happen – people get sick – kids don’t nap or were up all night – If this were to happen, please don’t “try” to make the shoot. It will just end up with us having to call it a day, and you will end up with not so lovely pictures (and we hate that more than anything). Please respect my time and understand that retainer fees are non-refundable.

> Rescheduling a weekend date will and/or less than 24 hours in advance will be a $30 fee.

> If reschedule notice is MORE than 24 hours then you may reschedule without penalty.

> If reschedule notice is between 6 to 24 hours, only half of your retainer fee will be applied to a make up day or future session.

> If you want to reschedule/cancel at the time of your session without prior notice, and to my knowledge session is still supposed to take place then all monies are non-refundable, a new non-refundable retainer fee will be required for a different date. Please understand that due to the circumstances of me not being able to reschedule a new client, having to retain child care, travel time, the time to set up for the session, etc. I will not transfer any payments to a new date.
JKP reserves the right to not offer a new reschedule date.

> If you CANCEL with a less than 24 hour notice and do not wish to reschedule then none of your original retainer fee will be applied to a make up day or future session. A new non-refundable retainer fee will be required for any future sessions. All monies paid are non-refundable.

For cake smash sessions: You, the client, will also be held responsible for paying the $45 for the smash cake no matter the situation each time.

For newborn sessions: Please keep in mind that newborn sessions are best done when baby is 5 to 14 days old. Rescheduling a newborn session may interfere with baby's tolerance as they get older.

There are no penalties in the chance of bad weather or family emergencies.

What forms of payment do you accept?

I accept cash, checks, and PayPal. Any returned checks will result in a $40 fee, and photos/products will NOT be released until issue has been resolved. Taxes will be applied.

What if the weather is bad?

In the case of unfortunate weather on your session date, we will reschedule your session for the soonest available date with no penalty. I will not photograph in unacceptable weather, or put my clients, myself, or camera gear at risk. Unacceptable weather may be considered high wind speeds, drizzle, rain, lighting, etc.

What if I am late to my session?

There will be a late fee added to your balance.

10-20 minutes late: $25
20-30 minutes late: $40
30-60 minutes late:
session will be cancelled and session non-refundable retainer fee will not transfer over.
